Ich bin jung, gut ausgebildet, nicht verheiratet, keine Kinder. Und ich bin ein kleiner Schisser. Ich habe Angst, dauerhaft von anderen oder gar dem Staat abhängig zu sein. Das Leben ist ungewiss genug – und oft ist das auch gut so.
Ich habe mich dazu entschieden, einen großen Unsicherheitsfaktor zu entfernen: finanzielle Sorgen.
Da ich in diesem Blog sehr transparent über meine Finanzen schreibe, bleibe ich anonym. Mehr als dieses Foto wird es daher von mir nicht geben. So kann ich ganz offen über meine Pläne, den aktuellen Stand und meine Gedanken auf dem Weg in die finanzielle Freiheit schreiben.
1988 – born in Germany as the oldest child of my parents
1991 – first memories, my brother is born
1992 – parents got divorced, my father left me, learned how to ride a bike, went to preschool
1994 – we moved 250 miles away, my mom married my stepfather, I started to go to school
1995 – my halfsister is born, started to play football
1997 – got an old C64 as a present
2000 – starting to go to high school, starting to read books
2003 – start to work during summer
2004 – have to retake the 10th grade, problems with latin and math
2005 – change school after passing the 10th grade, move in with my grandparents, start to smoke
2006 – become more independent as a person, still reading tons of books, find my first girlfriend
2007 – get interested in investment and economics
2008 – finish school, move to the netherlands and study there for one semester international management, work for a bike manufacturer, buy stocks after the crash
2009 – move back to Germany, 200 miles away from my grandparents, start to study german language and history, find my second girlfriend, buy a camera, learn about photography
2010 – learn more about photography, especially long exposure photography
2011 – work at my universities library, find my third girlfriend, travel to France
2012 – finish my studies with a bachelors degree, start my master, work part time at a consultancy, sell stocks, build my first house and become a landlord
2013 – study in spain for a few months, read tons of economy books, learn about financial independence
2014 – finish my master, build four houses, sell three, rent out the fourth one
2015 – travel to east asia, buy a bike, learn how to fix a bike, travel through germany by bike, starting to create a passive stock portfolio
2016 – find my fourth girlfriend, travel to the us, travel through Czech Republic by bike, read this famous blog by Mister Money Mustache, make an actual plan to become financial independent.
2017 – switch jobs for the first time in my career after job hunting for about six months. Move to a new city knowing nobody. Develop the spreadsheet im still using today to track my FIRE path.
2018 – learned a lot at my new job. Found my girlfriend. Did my fist multi week roadtrip. First year my salary was above average.
